Charles Plyler, Is the CEO of Penny Stock News Inc and he’s been investing in penny stock picks for over nine years so he must have a few winners if he’s still going.
Overview: The sales page is a bit hyped but we kinda expect that from this kind of deal. He’s got a pretty impressive chart showing some of the penny stock investments he made in 2009 with returns of up 1500 percent.
A quick check back at the prices for the period quoted confirms that these gains were indeed achievable if you got in and out at the right time, so we’ll give Charlie the benefit of the doubt on that.
Methodology: Plyler doesn’t really give a particular methodology of how he picks his penny stocks and in many ways that’s no bad thing. Years of experience and thorough research is his ‘method’ and that can be just as effective as any software gimmick or mathematical model.
One thing he does do is look at unknown companies and flags them up on your radar. Companies he calls ‘diamonds in the rough’.
Basically, for your monthly subscription you get a weekly newsletter (on a Sunday) of news and stock tips. Then during the week you get e-mail alerts of breaking news and penny stock investing opportunities.
And he throws in some decent bonus investment strategy books when you first sign up.
Cons: I think we would have liked to have seen a bit more upfront on what his approach is. Just a bit more detail on whether he uses technical analysis and charting software, etc. to time his trades or is it all gut feel. I dunno… just a confidence thing on our part maybe…
* The company occasionally receives $xxxx cash or xxxx shares” from the Company as compensation for its efforts in researching, presenting, and disseminating this information to the subscriber database of PSN Newsletter.
Bottom Line: Having said that, old Charlie boy’s newsletter is not bad, he backs some good winners and a few losers and those bonuses will help you become a better investor, especially if you are new to penny stock trading.
